About DIF
Europe is a world leader in the digital distribution of media and entertainment. The Digital Interoperability Forum (DIF) is committed to maintaining Europe's lead in digital TV, delivering digital content to Europe's citizens, and fostering interoperable solutions.DIF is a cross-sector forum of global players involved in delivery of content across multiple platforms and devices:

DIF (along with the European Broadcasting Union) created and is managing the European High Definition Forum (EHDF)
The European High Definition Forum (EHDF) was established, with the support of the European Commission's services, to bring together European, national and international stakeholders who are actively involved in developing and deploying HDTV in Europe. The EHDF is administered jointly by the Digital Interoperability Forum (DIF) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
DIF (and EBU, BMCO,GSME) also created and administered the European Mobile Broadcasting Council (EMBC).
The European Mobile Broadcasting Council (EMBC) was established in July 2006 as a response to Commissioner Reding's invitation to industry to establish a roadmap for the deployment of mobile television services in Europe.
